iGrant.io presents data agreements at the WE BUILD Consortium architecture workshop in Zurich

Description

Under the Digital Europe Programme, the WE BUILD consortium brings together 180+ public authorities and private companies across 26 countries. The use cases explore high‑impact business and supply chain workflows, including due diligence, KYC, company law directive, and company representation & signing on behalf of a company.

During the two-day session, iGrant.io presented data agreements at the WE BUILD Consortium architecture workshop in Zurich. Representing iGrant.io at the event, George Padayatti (Partner and Head of DevOps) and Lotta Lundin (Co-founder and CEO). The session, led by Sarah Amandusson, Michelle Ludovici, and Peter Altmann from DIGG, gathered industry leaders within the WE BUILD Consortium WP4 Architecture Group for inspiring discussions around emerging technologies and the proposed regulation for European Business Wallets.

EU Business Wallet: Key outcomes from the WeBuild Consortium event

The event brought consortium partners together for two productive days to review deliverables, align expectations, and collaboratively shape the Architecture Blueprint.

Day 1 centred on responsibilities, deliverables, and a deep dive into the Blueprint. What it is, how it will evolve, and how we collaborate around it.
The keynotes and discussions covered a wide range of topics, including the Business Wallet demonstration, on-device key storage, messaging, intermediaries, revocation and status lists, trust frameworks, consent/data agreements, and more.

Day 2 began with an energising session on zero-knowledge proofs, followed by hands-on work refining the Blueprint and related documentation, and continued with a lively discussion about the proposed regulation on the establishment of European Business Wallets.

Why this matters

Data Agreements fill a critical transparency gap in the EUDI Wallet ecosystem by clearly conveying purpose, lawful basis, retention, and disclosure policies to wallet holders. This ensures compliant, trusted, and user-centric data sharing across issuers and verifiers, aligning with GDPR and eIDAS 2.0 requirements.
