EUDI Wallet Unfold Interop Week: Testing the EUDI Wallets with Organisation Wallet Suite by iGrant.io
63 organisations, one goal: Accelerating interoperability by testing the real-world EUDI Wallet use cases

Description
iGrant.io’s Organisation Wallet Suite has earned the “Ready for France Identité” badge, recognising its interoperability and compliance with the French EUDI Wallet ecosystem.
Unfold brings the ecosystem together, moving beyond pilots and theory toward real, user-facing use cases. The focus is simple: testing together, learning fast, and ensuring that interoperability works in practice. It serves as a vital touchpoint for the European Digital Identity community to refine the technical building blocks of Europe’s digital future. The EUDIW Unfold #2.2 brought together 21 countries to test interoperability.
Hosted by France Identite, this session aimed to facilitate the implementation of the EUDI Wallet for all ecosystem actors. With 63 organisations in attendance, the week provided a collaborative environment to test implementations against one another, aiming to reduce fragmentation between standards and formats by covering as many real-world scenarios as possible.
Highlights of the session
Session: EUDIW Unfold #2.2 - Interop Week
Date: 2 - 6 March 2026
Location: Online and Angers, France
To test and showcase how wallets can be issued, presented, and verified across different use case scenarios.
Presenting the first interop event with an ETSI-compliant trust list, where the testing covers both remote and proximity flows to ensure interoperability across diverse setups. The event included online sessions for remote flow testing, in which participants used the OpenID4VC (Issuance) and OpenID4VP (Presentation) protocols to simulate credential issuance and presentation between wallets and verifiers. It also included offline proximity testing in Angers, focused on face-to-face scenarios where wallets and verifiers exchanged data directly in a physical environment.
Key Use Cases
- Data formats: IETF SD-JWT VC and ISO 18013-5/7 mdoc/mDL
- HAIP: High Assurance Interoperability Profile
- Credentials: Person Identification Data (PID), mobile driving license (mDL), and age verification.
- Cross-implementation verification: Ensuring iGrant.io issuers, verifiers, and wallets work flawlessly with third-party providers.

Why this matters
This interoperability week is crucial because it bridges the gap between technical specifications and real-world utility. By testing diverse implementations side-by-side, we reduce market fragmentation and ensure that a digital identity issued in one member state is effortlessly recognised in another.
