Description
The session focuses on practical interoperability for the Age Verification credential use case across the European Digital Identity Wallet ecosystem. It brings together wallet providers, verifiers, integrators, and relying parties to test how age-related credentials can be issued, shared, and verified across different implementations. A dedicated in-person proximity testing day takes place on 12 June, hosted by Docaposte, focusing on device-to-device and face-to-face verification scenarios under real conditions.
iGrant.io, a Swedish provider of the Organisation Wallet Suite (EU Business Wallet) and the Data Wallet (EUDI Wallet for individuals), participates in the EUDIW Unfold #3.1 Interop Week Session to test EUDI Wallet implementations in real-world cross-border scenarios.
Moving from specifications to operational readiness
As the EUDI Wallet ecosystem enters a more operational phase, Age Verification is one of the first concrete use cases moving towards practical deployment. For iGrant.io, this interop session is another opportunity to contribute to real-world testing across areas such as OIDC4VP, ISO mDL, assurance levels, user experience, and relying-party integration. The session also supports further alignment around trust-list-based testing, including the use of an ETSI-compliant trust list, which adds an important layer to practical interoperability validation.
Testing Age Verification in real-world scenarios
Age Verification is a key use case for EUDI Wallet adoption, with relevance across both online and proximity environments. It enables users to prove age-related attributes without unnecessarily disclosing additional personal information. Through EUDIW Unfold #3.1, participants can test implementation choices, compare approaches, and identify remaining challenges to enable smoother recognition and acceptance of age-related credentials.
For relying parties, this type of testing is especially important. It helps validate how wallet-based verification can be integrated into real services and user journeys, both online and at in-person checks.
