Description

Demonstrating payment capability in production using iGrant.io’s Organisation Wallet and Data Wallet, under the eIDAS 2.0, PSD2 and GDPR frameworks, sets a new benchmark for secure, consent-driven digital transactions in Europe.

In a breakthrough for digital payments in Europe, iGrant.io proudly announces the first successful production deployment of payment capabilities using the EU Digital Identity Wallet (EUDI Wallet).

This milestone, delivered in collaboration with Visa, Banca Transilvania, UAaGean, Fast Ferries, Worldline, and other members of the EU Digital Wallet Consortium (EWC), shows how the EUDI Wallet can be used to make secure, real-time payments, without paperwork, forms, or login friction. Part of the EWC Large-Scale Pilot, this achievement demonstrates how individuals can link their bank account to their digital wallet through Strong Customer Authentication (SCA), enabling secure, privacy-preserving payments that are fully compliant with eIDAS 2.0 and GDPR.

We’ve turned vision into reality with a working solution that meets the needs of citizens, businesses, and public authorities, including payments” said Lotta Lundin, CEO of iGrant.io.

This pilot is built on real-world scenarios, from ferry ticket payments in Greece (Fast Ferries), supported by the University of Aegean, to bank account linkage via Banca Transilvania, and end-to-end wallet flows powered by Worldline.

The pilot sets the stage for upcoming payment trials across merchant and bank-led flows, paving the way for cross-border wallet-based payments across Europe.
